My first class this semester
Today my first class is English for Hotel Management. To be frank, at the very beginning, I choose this class just for my credit, without any emotion. But now, I am glad to tell you that if I don’t choose this class, I would regret for my whole life. For what? Just for the teacher and her fresh idea she brings me. From her, I can not only learn English but also get a fresh view of another totally field. Successfully, she has attracted the whole class to her topic, into her way of teaching. Even the assignment is aspiring. You know what? She asks us to be secret guesses. Maybe you don’t know, a secret guess is someone who is assigned to a restaurant to enjoy the services, and all the fees can be handed in list of expended. A secret guess’s task is to find out what’s the problem the restaurant has in its management. She gave us such assignment too; we could go to any of the restaurant or dining hall for a dinner in a fort or five person groups, and make a report about the services and management. That’s very interesting, right?
Today, I learn a lot that I even didn’t have an idea before. The freshest idea is the Youth Hotel and the most luxury hotel in the world. Youth hotel is such a kind of hotel that you pay for a bed instead of pay for a room; it is especially for the bag packers, almost the young people. If you don’t tell the front officers you want a single sex room, they would arrange you to a mix room. So you may astonish when you first open the door to find a woman or a man laying in another beds.
The most breathtaking is the most luxury hotel in the world---the 7-star Buri Al-Arab Hotel(伯瓷酒店)。The main color of the hotel is blue and gold. Blue is the sea, and gold ,it is not golden, because it built with 26 tons 24k gold. Buri Al-Arab Hotel is built in the sea, looking like a sailing boat. It took 2 years to construct the underground and another 3 years for the hotel. In the hotel, you have to dive 20 minutes to get to the dining room. Even the commodes are gilded. Amazing!
