I have a favors to ask regarding Chinese literature
I’m going to study contemporary Chinese literature. The interesting part is that all the reading materials will be in English, in other words, what I‘m going to read are translated versions rather than the original texts. Quite related to the theme of this forum, huh? I wonder how precise the interpretations are going to be.
If time permits, I will upload some of the selected works and we may launch discussions here. I thus sincerely invite English lovers (of course you also need to be literature lovers) to join me in such dialogues for exchanging views and opinions towards the literature and translation. In addition, I will feedback to the participants the comments from my instructor as rewards and in this way, we progress and level simultaneously.
However, my major concern is that such discussion cannot be carried out in large group or it may lose focus. Rather, it should be conducted in niche so that it will be more efficient and beneficial. Also, as I‘m going to be the host for selecting the topics, I guess it would be too personal if I were to open such threads on this forum. Furthermore, I cannot make sure my threads to be always on spotlight and it’s not going to be easy for me to trace and locate mine in heaps of other threads.
Currently what I plan to do is to run such discussion on a regular basis, say, weekly or fortnightly. And what come across to my mind is that I may create a 圈子on this forum for better controlled communication. Any better suggestion?
Those who are interested in my proposal, kindly register with me via personal message or alternatively, you may simply reply to this thread stating your intention. BUT as I mentioned earlier, I need to restrict the number of participators for better control. Therefore, I hope to bring your attention that I cannot take in every one. I also hope that those who wish to join have pretty fair English standard, at least of my level or better, alright?
Hope to hear from you guys.
